Run 4 Democracy
Saturday, October 3
1000 runners · 1 blue wave
Not everyone can run for office.
But everyone can Run4Democracy. Run or walk a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon wherever you happen to be on Saturday, October 3rd to help raise money for key races in the fight to turn Washington and America blue.
* We understand that running isn't possible or safe for everyone, but you can still donate or simply show your support using the hashtag #Run4Democracy.
How it Works:
Register. Donate. Run. Win.
1. Register for the distance that works for you.
Challenge yourself to complete a 5K, 10K, half, or full marathon—we'll help you do it!
2. Donate $50 to our Swing Left campaign.*
Just 1,000 donors will help us reach our $50,000 goal.
3. On October 3rd, run (or walk, or roll, or pogo-stick) to show your support.
Wherever you are, wear a blue shirt and help create a (literal) blue wave.
4. Take that momentum to the voting booth.
Vote on November 3rd and encourage others to do the same!
Go further: $2 for Each Mile
Just in case you needed that extra push, for every mile completed on October 3, $2 will be donated! (Up to $800 total...and counting...that's 400 collective miles!)
There are 3 easy ways to get your miles counted:
- Join our Strava group and log your activity on October 3
- Post a picture on social media and tell us your mileage with the hashtag #Run4Democracy and tag us @run4democracy
- Email us and let us know how far you went
Don't want to run (or walk, bike, or roll) but still want to help the cause?
Simply donate to our Swing Left campaign and help us reach our $50,000 goal.
Remember, 100% of your donation goes to the Democratic campaigns that need it most.
Trump and McConnell have to go
Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their cronies are pillaging this country. We need a blue wave this November if we hope to build America into the country we know it can be.
Run4Democracy aims to kick-start Democratic momentum with a literal blue wave of runners, walkers, and supporters across America on October 3rd—one month before the most important election of our lifetimes.
Every cent we raise goes directly to crucial campaigns across the country that need our support.
Running is hard, but we want to show the GOP that we aren't afraid to do what it takes to get rid of them.

Where Your Money Goes
All proceeds go to Swing Left's National Impact Fund, which distributes 100% of your donation to the most important races across the country.
From Swing Left: "There are must-win races for Democrats up and down the ballot in 2020. Support them all, including the White House, Senate, and key state legislatures, with one donation—100% of which will go to the candidates."
I don't like running. But I hate what Republicans are doing to this country.
My name is Andy. I am not a runner.
But I've always liked the idea of completing a marathon, just to say I'd done it.
With nearly every race this year canceled due to the pandemic, I had an idea: What if I ran a marathon by myself, and simply donated the money I would have spent on registration to a good cause?
Then I had another thought: What if I wasn't the only one?
With that, Run4Democracy was born: A nationwide commitment to doing something for ourselves and for our country.
I've started training for my first marathon - follow my progress on Twitter and Instagram.

What is this thing anyway?
What is Run4Democracy?
A distributed run/walk to raise money for Democrats running for office in 2020.
When is it?
Saturday, October 3rd, 2020. Exactly one month before Election Day.
Where does it happen?
Anywhere and everywhere! It's up to you. Just wear any blue shirt and post on social media using #Run4Democracy.
How far is the run/walk?
We are all about choice here. Go as far as you'd like. We recommend doing a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon...but once again, its up to you!
Do I have to run?
Absolutely not. You can walk, bike, swim, roll, or pogo stick. Participate however you feel comfortable.
How much does it cost to participate?
We suggest a Swing Left donation of $50. That's a quarter the cost of the Boston Marathon...and 100% goes to Democrats running for office. But we appreciate anything you're able to give!
I'm convinced. Now what?
How do I register?
Step 1: Register here.
Step 2: Donate to our Swing Left campaign.
Don't worry, this is all explained again when you register!
How much should I donate?
We suggest you donate $50. If 1,000 people donate that amount, we'll raise $50,000 for Democrats! But of course we appreciate anything you're able to give.
Where does my donation go?
100% of your donation goes directly to Democrats running for critical seats up and down the ballot. The donations are handled by Swing Left. Read more about why we chose them here.
